While everything I wear is a reflection of the style I like, this outfit is one of those that feels so quintessentially me. The cute top, the comfortable pants, mostly neutral with a pop of color in the shoes… these are the things that make me feel happy and confident in an outfit. Of course, happy and confident are the main feelings I try to achieve with any outfit (as well as comfortable!) but this one really hits the mark.
For all of my adult career, I’ve enjoyed dressing business casual. I’ve never really been the jeans and tee kind of girl because that’s just me. Once, in middle school, my gym/health teacher asked me why I was always so dressed up. I think I told him I just liked to look nice. Nothing wrong with that! And this outfit looks really nice. It’s simple yet elegant. The only thing missing in this whole ensemble is some color on my lips!
I mentioned in one of my posts last week that Target is retiring its Mossimo and Merona brands but will continue with its Who What Wear line (along with several new lines). This shirt is from that line and one of the reasons I ain’t mad about Target’s decision. It’s a great shirt! It’s cute and interesting, it can be dressed up (like here, or with a skirt) or down (with jeans), and it can be worn with just about any other color. That’s a win in my book.

Nikki, I love the classic simplicity of this outfit! And of course, I adore polka dots. The shoes are perfect with the all black and white outfit. Such a great look. I did not know Target was retiring Mossimo and Merona. I have quite a few pieces from those brands hanging in my closet. I hope they stay on their fashion game with the new changes and branding!

Love this look! Polka Dots are my faves – they are always so fun! I also really dig the pop of color from your shows – so fun!
I love the Who What Wear line! I’ve been buying quite a few of my office clothing pieces from there and they’re all so cute! My go-to look almost always includes slouchy pants and loafers; I’m obsessed with menswear-inspired clothing, as it’s so easy to look professional while still adding some personal touches.
Kate, I know what you mean; so much from that line is great for work. Every time I hit up Target (which is at least once a week, let’s be real) I check that section to see if they have anything new. Slouchy pants and loafers are SO comfortable, and they’re a great go-to look! I really do love that look, but I feel like I’m too short to personally pull off slouchy pants (and shirts) because what looks elegantly slouchy on an average-size person looks too big on me.
Aw that’s so sweet that you knew your style when you were young. I have changed my style so much through my life. I think at the heart of it I am a blue jeans and tee shirt kinda girl, but I like to look nicer than that. You have a very nice and classic style.

There’s nothing wrong with being a jeans and tee kind of girl. It’s one of the best types of girls to be 🙂
Cute outfit! It’s always good to be comfortable – both in terms of how the clothes fit and how comfortable and confident you feel in the style! 🙂
This is a really great outfit. I love when you put on something and it immediately makes you feel happy and confident. The shoes are great – I like the pop of color, but still that they compliment so many colors so they are really versatile!
This is a wonderful look and I love that it’s from Target! That store never ceases to amaze me for fashion finds.
Seriously! I also love Target for their amazing designer copies (especially with shoes!) so it’ll be interesting to see what their changes bring.
I love that when you put on an outfit and you feel like its “you” . Looks great!
Cute outfit and I love your watch:-)
