Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

How handsome is my husband?! Nick certainly isn’t afraid of white pants the way I am. He wore this outfit to one of his little brothers’ graduation dinner and ceremony in Atlanta. He knew it was going to be hot so he wore light colors for a cool, breezy outfit. I love the way he paired the light pink top and white pants with dark brown and navy accessories. You’ll be in some of the photos at the bottom that he added a navy blazer for a hint of summer sophistication. He’s definitely inspiring me to play around with my white pants more.

He rolled his pants legs up once because he wanted to “show a little more skin.” He’s so scandalous! 🙂

I’ve worn this outfit several times and tried to get good photos. But every time I step outside with my camera, the sun runs to hide! I guess I didn’t even need the hat! The photo above is the only really good one I got out of the whole bunch. Oh, well.

I really like these shorts, even though they’re almost too short to be comfortable. They’re so cute that I’m willing to overlook it. So far, this the only shirt I’ve worn them with, but I have so many ideas and I can’t wait to style them in other ways. I’ll definitely add some color next time.

Why, yes, I do have another little green dress (LGD) and I’m wearing it with sparkly sandals! Green is my second favorite color so I’m not surprised I have more than one green dress. Plus, it brings out the green in my eyes.

I wore this dress on Tuesday to a planning retreat with my department. My program seems to really value the input of students when it comes toquality and planning, so I attended with about 5 of my classmates. We participated in small group discussions, presented those ideas to the bigger group, and received a warm applause at the end for working so hard to become successsful professionals in our frield. I had a lot more fun than I thought I would. Hooray for public health!

Monday was the first day of summer session, which includes my internship , and this is what I wore. I wasn’t 100% sure of what I would be doing on the first day but I wanted to make a good impression, even though I’ve met with these folks before. I mostly sat through a few meetings, received my first project assignments, and nailed down my schedule. Not too bad for a first day. I’ll probably stick to more comfortable shoes in the future, as I’ll be doing a lot of walking. But I’m really looking forward to the work I’ll be doing this summer, which includes grant writing for funds to carry out new research. That will be really good experience for when I’m back in the real world.

I was going to wear a different navy pencil skirt with this outfit but the zipper on it got stuck and would. not. budge. I even tried using pliers but that sucker wasn’t going anywhere. I eventually had to give up and put on this skirt instead. I might even like this outfit better.

I know I’m a little late for a Mother’s Day post but here it is anyway! I usually see my mom {and dad} about once a month since I live several hours away from my hometown. When school started, my time with my parents was reduced to about once every other month when I would have a break. Needless to say, I was really glad I got to spend Mother’s Day with my mom. The family went out for an early dinner and then frozen yogurt, and kept it very low-key, so this is what I wore. My mom was just glad that we could all be together. Now I can’t wait for Father’s Day!
