I spent some time this weekend putting some outfits together for the coming week, and probably just to have on hand for those days when I don’t really feel like getting dressed. This first one is a great one to wear to the office, but I don’t have one of those yet! That’s why it’s photographed as a flat lay instead of as an outfit that I’m wearing. But it’s super cute and I can’t wait to wear it, whether it’s to an office or some other event. I also paired two different shoes with it. I love having options so that I don’t feel limited, but then having too many options can make me feel overwhelmed. I think I would probably wear the brown sandal with this outfit instead of the snake skin heels.

I did some unexpected shopping at a cute little boutique in Durham and purchased a few things without meaning to. Nick encouraged it so he can’t even get mad at me for spending money! These pieces are by patagonia, which is really cool because patagonia is typically outdoorsy and sporty. But these chambray shorts and 3/4-length sleeve top are perfect for running errands or hanging out.

Because it’s still extremely hot, I’m sticking to shorts. I love these black shorts because they’re the perfect length and fit so comfortably. So I’m going to pair them with this sleeveless top and sandals, which is another outfit that is perfect for hanging out, drinking beer or lemonade or even running errands.

What do you think of these outfits? Maybe you’ll see them again on the blog soon.

This is such a great idea, Nikki! I love the idea of putting outfits together in this format to see how they’d look together. I do a lot of outfit planning on my spreadsheet on my computer, but I like that this way actually gives you a visual of what the outfit would look like! <3
Thanks, Brynn! I’ve been outfit planning for a long time but up until recently I would put on outfits and take pictures of them with my phone and the quality of those photos weren’t good enough to put on the blog. Since I had some extra time, I decided to do the flat lays so I could at least share them on the blog in ways that would be more appealing to readers. Plus, it’s actually really fun!
I love that you outfit plan! I have such a hard time being organized about these sorts of things, especially when packing for trips. Great flatlays too 😉

Thanks Ana Luiza! Planning outfits is something I’m trying to do more of so I can remember all of the cute combinations I come up with in my head 🙂 I used to write them down, but it’s so much better to actually see the pieces together. It’s like putting together a very cute fashion puzzle.
Also, I used to really overpack for trips and planning has helped keep my overnight bag or luggage from being so darn heavy! It’s a great idea to plan, and it can be really fun!
Super cute outfits ahead! I love the orange outfit!

Yes, I can’t wait to wear the orange one. I just need somewhere to wear it! 🙂
These are really cute outfits, and what a great idea to plan them ahead! I need to do that this upcoming year in teaching. It’ll save me so much time in the mornings!
Thanks, Jenna. It really does save a lot of time because I take pictures of them or at least set them aside in my closet so that they’re the first thing I turn to in the mornings. I used to do that a lot for my last job because it made life so much easier! Give it a try and let me know how it goes 🙂
Love the colors in that first look! Gorgeous skirt too!

Thanks, Darcy! The colors are beautiful, and I think they’ll be perfect to wear in the Fall, as well. It’s a win-win!
