The best thing about this floral tank is that the colors in it match almost every cardigan and blazer in my closet. I’ve worn it once already with a plum cardigan and navy cropped trousers to a baby shower. This time I kept it a bit more casual and wore this outfit to dinner. I spent the day babysitting the two most adorable one-year-olds on the planet, but I wore these jeans and a gray t-shirt. When I got home, I wanted to wear something nice to dinner so I changed into this tank and mustard cardi, ad the result is really cute. Is mustard a fall or spring color? Or both? Oh, who cares, I wear it year-round! And this outfit will be put on repeat for the rest of the summer.

P.S. I’m loving these d’orsay pumps. They’re perfect for everything!

I wore this outfit to my very last day of graduate school. I had lunch with my work crew (my professor, classmate, and coworker) and then I spent the afternoon in the library, finishing up my last final, and I ended up at the bar with my best friend, enjoying some celebratory drinks. It was probably the best Monday ever! I was feeling very spring-y so I decided to pair turquoise with yellow, which I probably wouldn’t normally do, even though it looks great. Later that week, I switched out the white pants for white shorts and ran some errands and did some shopping in preparation for hosting my family for Graduation/Mothers’ Day weekend.

This shirt was a birthday gift from my sister-in-law. She has great taste, doesn’t she?!

And here’s the fun one: I was running out of pose ideas so I just started twirling. It kind of looks like I’m surfing! I do wish I was at the beach right now…

It doesn’t get any easier than putting on a pair of shorts and a comfy tee. It’s even easier when you stick to the same colors! I’m continuing my neutrals obsession with simple black and white, and a pop of cobalt. It’s getting hotter outside so I’m trying to avoid jeans and anything that will make me sweat even more than I already do. I’ve gained a few pesky pounds these past few years during grad school with all of the driving and fast-food eating I did so I’m slightly limited on what bottoms I can wear. I haven’t gained a lot of weight, just enough to make my jeans and skirts feel uncomfortably snug. Anyway, these shorts feel great and I purchased a white and navy pair as well, so you’ll probably see them a lot more often.

I wore this outfit to officially meet the babies I’ll be babysitting for the next few weeks. They’re one-year-old twins and absolutely adorable. I worked with their mom for several years before quitting my job and going to grad school and I’m happy to be helping her out. Plus, I’m earning some extra cash until I can find a full-time gig.

Nick got me a Fitbit Charge HR as a graduation gift. I’ve been wearing it for about two full weeks now and I. AM. LOVING. IT. Seriously, I’ve never been more obsessed with meeting my steps goal, monitoring my heart rate, observing my sleep patterns, and tracking how many calories I’ve burned. It’s the best thing ever. I would totally recommend one.

Also, is it just me or does my hat look funny in these photos? A little misshapen perhaps? I can’t tell!

I’ve been thinking a lot about my style lately because I have a closet full of clothes that I haven’t worn in a while. As I reassess, I’m finding that I’m drawn more and more to neutral colors, especially white, with maybe a splash of color in the form of an accessory or blazer/jacket. I’ve never really been into wearing a lot of bright colors or patterns togethers for fear of looking like a crayon box (some folks pull it off very well, but I don’t feel that I am one of them) so I usually steer clear. I chose this tank with geometric patterns etched in to give the outfit a little more interest, and the hat is super cute, too.

Also, this is about as boho as you’ll see me get. I even wore this outfit to the farmers’ market last week.

I think it’s really important for my blog that I show outfits that I actually wear. I also want my outfits to look good, but I feel like I struggle with being “trendy” and heels with everything feels very trendy right now. I love how the heels look with these skinny jeans and the necklace of the same color, and this is definitely something I’d wear on a night out or for a special occasion, but to be completely honest, I wouldn’t wear heels to the grocery store. I’d definitely choose flats to run errands or to grab lunch with Nick. So, the truth is I did wear this outfit to lunch with Nick one day last week BUT with the flats I wore with this outfit.

But this outfit is so cute that I’ll come up with a reason to wear it. Or I’ll wear the heels to the grocery store because it’s so darn good. Maybe sometimes you just have to make those sacrifices 😉
