Fall officially begins on Monday but the weather was so nice this morning (in the 60s) that I’m hoping we convinced the season to come a few days early. And in my mind, that means it’s officially sweater weather. My little family kind of slept in this morning, and because I don’t plan my outfits in advance like a person who truly has their life together, I didn’t have a ton of time to think about what to wear, so I grabbed a light sweater and decided to recreate another outfit from falls past.

Old outfit originally worn on June 5, 2014:

Sweater & Cropped Trousers: Banana Republic | Shoes: via Payless | Necklaces: via my Mom (so probably Kohls)

I wore the first outfit to my graduate program internship to a cold pediatric clinic (hence the light sweater in the summer) because I wanted to look somewhat professional and I loved the classy neutrals. Fast forward 5 years later and I still have all the pieces (sans the bag) to recreate the outfit with a few updates.

Today’s outfit, September 18, 2019

Sweater & Cropped Trousers: Banana Republic | Heels: H&M | Necklace: Target, I think

I swapped out the accessories for more updated versions: a single sleek necklace and some cute heels. Simple but stylish.

What do you think of this update?
