Life has been pretty busy lately, hence my sporadic posting. I know that’s to be expected when you’re adjusting to life with an infant, but on top of that, coordinating work and daycare schedules has been more challenging that I thought. We moved Sebastian to a daycare closer to our house because it makes our commute much easier, but I’m still getting used to the new routine. Also, I’m missing our old daycare because they were taking such good care of him. His previous teacher helped him finger paint, made little art projects with his footprints, and she gave him plenty of one-on-one time. The new daycare is fine; they take good care of him, too, but I don’t get the sense that the new teachers are as engaged as the previous teachers. Sure, they have a certain curriculum and they teach him things, but it doesn’t feel as personal as the other location. Maybe I just need some more time to get to know them better.
Anyway, when I got dressed, I thought to myself, “Here’s another ‘mom’ outfit,” but, just like I mentioned in my recent Mom post, I would have worn this type of outfit before becoming a mom. Also, when you’re a mom, every outfit you wear is a mom outfit! But this one is my new favorite because it’s comfortable and stylish. And I love this shirt. It has become my go-to, and I’d wear it every day if I could. It’s from the “A New Day” collection at Target. The boat neck design makes the shirt feel kind of preppy, and I appreciate that they added an extra piece of fabric in the shoulder to hide your bra straps. I hate it when my bra straps are showing!
I’ve worn this outfit to work, doctors appointments, running errands, hanging out around the house, dinner, etc. etc. You name it. It’s the best. It’s really good for transitioning into Fall, too!
What is your go-to “mom” outfit?

I love how you put that… “every outfit you wear is a mom outfit!” So true! I have two daughters (4, 9) and I’m usually in my workout clothes. However, even when I’m dressed up, I’m still mom. Lol! I love this look. This is definitely the kind of outfit I wear to look cute.
It’s so true, isn’t it?! When you’re a mom all your clothes are “mom clothes” so you really can’t go wrong 🙂
You can never go wrong with stripes! This totally looks like something I would wear too, and I love that there’s extra fabric to hide bra straps. As I don’t have kids I can’t relate to the daycare dilemma, but I know changing from one routine to another is always tough, especially when it seems like the other better suited what you wanted (but more inconvenient).
I love the stripes and the necklace! We love some of the montessori inspired projects for our little one.
Oohh, I’m not familiar with montessori projects so I’ll have to look into some. Thanks for the heads up, April!
Aww you two are so cute! I love the length on that shirt and that extra bit of fabric in the collar is brilliant! I really like boat neck collars, but you’re right, it’s really annoying when you can see the bra strap in the boat neck shirts. This is just great though!
How cute is your little guy?! This outfit is perfect for on the go and so versatile! I also really appreciate the little piece of fabric to hide bra straps! I hope things get a little better at the new daycare. I know his care is most important, but it’s nice to have the little extras, too. Like you said, hopefully, you’ll get that same sense after being there a while!
Thank you, Mary Leigh! I do just want to eat him up all the time 🙂 I’m sure things at the daycare are going to be just fine. I just have to adjust and learn to accept change. Plus, I’m still in contact with his previous teacher and she has agreed to babysit whenever we need her so that makes me feel a lot better 🙂
