A few years ago I was pinspired to wear this polka dot sweater and patterned vest together, and the resulting outfit turned out really well. When the formula works, you use it. So I did it again with a few switcharoos. Dark denim instead of black jeans and burgundy/maroon (what is this color officially called this year?) flats. I’m not sure which version I like better because they’re both really cute. I suppose that’s the beauty of learning how to work your closet. Also: holy moly at my hair in the original post; it’s so long!
I wore this outfit on Black Friday when the only shopping we did was to pick out our Christmas tree. We go to the same lot every year because I really like supporting the organization, TROSA, a residential program that enables substance abusers to be productive, recovering individuals in the community by providing treatment, work-based vocational training, education, and care. We’ve been going to one of their lots since we moved into our house, so it’s been about 5 years now. It feels good to support a cause I care about.
Look at that little 23-week bump peeking out!

I’m not great at mixing patterns so I’m all for formulas! Love it with the pop of color in your flats!
So cute! I love those cute flats.
This is super cute. I would’ve never thought to put polka dots and herringbone together, but it works so well!
Thanks, Rebecca. I wouldn’t have thought to put them together either until I saw that pin. I love how they look together.
Mixing patterns is always fun. I, like you, get inspired from pinterest. Your baby bump is so cute.

Pinterest is the best inspiration for everything! It’s the first place I search when I want to see how others did something, and it rarely disappoints.
this is the cutest pattern mixing!! i love that polka dot sweater!!!
I am loving this look. And at 23 weeks you look amazing.
Thanks, Melissa. I must say that I’m actually starting to feel pregnant now, so that’s both exciting and only slightly miserable 🙂
This is seriously so cute! I am already thinking about how I can make his work with my wardrobe – thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks, Jennie! You have great style so I’m sure you’ll be able to make it work pretty easily.
