*I’m devoting this week to dresses in an attempt to motivate myself to actually wear the dresses I have in my closet.* You may recognize this cute little number from my instagram post a few weeks ago. It’s another dress that I wore to the office where I volunteer. The women there probably think I only wear dresses, which is funny because I don’t wear dresses all the time, hence this week’s dress theme. But it’s a nice opportunity to wear my dresses so it works out. I got this one at the Loft Outlet near my house. I thought it would be easy to dress up with a blazer or cardigan, or to dress down just like it is. I believe I was right!

Here’s the fun blooper: I think I was adjusting my bracelets.

Cappuchino and Coffee

I spent some time this weekend putting some outfits together for the coming week, and probably just to have on hand for those days when I don’t really feel like getting dressed. This first one is a great one to wear to the office, but I don’t have one of those yet! That’s why it’s photographed as a flat lay instead of as an outfit that I’m wearing. But it’s super cute and I can’t wait to wear it, whether it’s to an office or some other event. I also paired two different shoes with it. I love having options so that I don’t feel limited, but then having too many options can make me feel overwhelmed. I think I would probably wear the brown sandal with this outfit instead of the snake skin heels.

I did some unexpected shopping at a cute little boutique in Durham and purchased a few things without meaning to. Nick encouraged it so he can’t even get mad at me for spending money! These pieces are by patagonia, which is really cool because patagonia is typically outdoorsy and sporty. But these chambray shorts and 3/4-length sleeve top are perfect for running errands or hanging out.

Because it’s still extremely hot, I’m sticking to shorts. I love these black shorts because they’re the perfect length and fit so comfortably. So I’m going to pair them with this sleeveless top and sandals, which is another outfit that is perfect for hanging out, drinking beer or lemonade or even running errands.

There isn’t much color in this photo. Some days are just like that. There’s a pop of red in the lining of my trench, which you can see in the bottom photo, and there’s green/mint in the necklace, but I went straight up neutral. If I had red flats, I probably would’ve put those on instead. I wore this outfit on Sunday to meet up with my group to prepare for a presentation this week, and I wasn’t really inspired to wear color, especially since I was just going to be sitting in the library for a few hours.

BUT. There’s more to these flats than meets the eye. They have little, shiny studs that catch the light and sparkle. So I may not be wearing color, but I’m technically wearing sparkle, and in my opinion, that’s the true spice to life!

And here’s the fun one! Does this photo make anyone else think of a flasher? Ooops!
