October is one of our favorite months, probably for all of the obvious reason (fall, Halloween, etc.) but also for some other, lesser known reasons. Since October is just around the corner, as in two days from now, I thought I would share a few of the reasons we perk up a little more around this time of year.
During October all four major sports are playing. NFL football (and NCAA) is in full swing, MLB baseball playoffs begin, and the NHL and NBA seasons begin. I don’t care much for baseball, but I will watch the playoffs. It’s the only part of the season worth watching. Weekends are pretty much all about football. ECU is stellar this year, and I still watch my Wolfpack when I can. Now that Nikki is an ECU student again, hopefully we’ll get to attend some home games. We keep up with the Panthers and I like watching the Chargers and Seahawks if possible so I can see NCSU alums Phillip Rivers and Russell Wilson. We also enjoy going to Hurricanes games so Nikki can watch the fights. Hockey is a much better game to watch live.
