How cute is this top? I liked it so much that I bought it in two colors, this one (“silver sash brown”) and fuchsia/purple, and it didn’t hurt that they were on sale. While available in maternity sizes, I opted for the regular size because you can do that when you’re as small as I am! Just one more pro to standing in at five feet tall. I think the best part about being able to wear regular sizes while pregnant is that they will still fit after pregnancy. A two-for-one deal, really. These coated denim jeans aren’t maternity either so I’ve turned to my trusty belly band. I could have worn dark denim but I feel like I wear those ALL. THE. TIME. so I wanted to change it up a little bit.
I started out in heels but quickly changed my mind, mostly because I don’t really like these heels. They’re uncomfortable and surprisingly hard to walk in — and I don’t usually have trouble walking in heels. I wanted so much to love them and I’ve tried very hard to make them work but I think I’m going to have to replace them. For the purpose of this outfit, which was to have lunch with Nick and run to the grocery store for some juice and cookies (yay pregnancy), I think I like the flats better anyway. What do you think?
Also, I’m sorry not sorry about holding my belly in these pics because pre-pregnancy, when I thought I didn’t want kids at all, I would see women holding their pregnant bellies and all I could think was, ‘okay, we get it. you’re pregnant’ but now that I’m pregnant, I finally get it — at least for me, it’s to show that I am growing a human and not just bloated from a burrito. But, haters gonna hate and I sincerely apologize for my past ignorance.

You are just glowing! I love your top and the bottom him. I haven’t tried a top like this but I want to.

Thanks, Lee! I can’t wait to show off the other color on the blog. It’s just as pretty 🙂
Cute top! I think I prefer the flats over the heels; I like their subtle design over the toes. Plus I can’t imagine dealing with heels while pregnant – sounds painful!
Thanks, Liz. I like the flats, too, especially for lunching and running errands. I think if I were still working in an office (where I could sit most of the time) I wouldn’t mind the heels so much but flats are definitely more comfortable these days.
Nikki, this is such a great maternity outfit and how wonderful that it will transition easily after baby arrives! I definitely like the flats better, too. I remember when I was pregnant, heels would never do mostly because my balance was all off! And sometimes you need to hold the belly just because it starts to get heavy! It eases some pressure off your back when you support it with your hands, I think. Anyway, you look amazing. Way to rock this adorable maternity look! Thanks for linking up with me On the Edge.

Thanks, Shelbee! The belly does start to get heavy, and sometimes I find myself lifting it up just to ease some of the strain. I still have about two months to go so I’m sure I’ll need even more support as the belly gets bigger. Heels will almost definitely be off the table at that point!
Your outfit is so cute and you are glowing! xx, I’m Fixin’ To
Those heels looked sooo perfect with the outfit. Too bad they didn’t work. Maybe for your next grocery store and lunch trip a heeled bootie with that outfit would look amazing! Something about the flats just in my opinion brought the outfit down a notch in the wow department. Other than that the rest of the outfit is amazing! Looks awesome on you.
I know, as soon as I find a comfortable replacement, I will rock them all the time! But I’ve also found that during pregnancy, I need a nice balance of heels and flats to save my back. An unfortunate truth that will be over in a few months 🙂
Once you have your baby your going back to heels all they time?
