Winter Flashback

Oh, hi there! It’s been a hot minute since I shared a *real* outfit post but here I am. If you follow my Instagram (or view the widgets at the bottom of my blog page) then you’ve probably gotten used to those office bathroom selfies with the harsh florescent lighting, but on one of my days off recently, I found these photos on my nice camera and decided to share. I realize that the weather in my neck of the woods (and most of the Southern US) is warming up because Spring is beginning to show itself in full force, but this was one of my favorite winter/colder weather outfits and it seemed a shame not to post it.

Tee + Jeans + Boots

Yesterday I talked about how my go-to formula lately has been sweater (top) + jeans + boots. Here’s another example of how well that works. It was almost 70 degrees so I got to wear a tee under the cardigan and I’m not complaining.

I wore this outfit to my doctor’s appointment the other morning and I told my midwife I was concerned that I’m not gaining enough weight. She said my belly and Baby S are measuring just fine, BUT I should start eating more peanut butter, avocados, loaded baked potatoes, ICE CREAM AND COOK OUT MILKSHAKES. Pretty much all of my favorite things… and it’s doctor’s orders! This pregnancy thing isn’t so bad 😉

It was totally warm enough to not wear the cardigan but it wasn’t too warm that I was uncomfortable in it, so I mostly left it on.

You can see the tip of my sock, which I think is cute. I hate the advice I’ve seen some bloggers give that your socks should never be visible but there really isn’t anyone looking down my shoe so I see no reason to worry about it. Plus, it could give a nice, unexpected pop of color.

Green Sweaters

February 15, 2016 by Nikki 5 Comments

Green Sweaters | NCsquared Life

This past week has been one of green sweaters. I think these darker forest & olive green colors look really good on me and I’ve fallen in love with this adorable fox sweater that I got in my last Le Tote box. Yes, I finally tried Le Tote and I *love* it. I’m writing a whole post about why I prefer it over some other services and I’m hoping to post it sooner rather than later. I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep the sweater but I’m definitely leaning toward yes. Anyway, I wore this super cute outfit to brunch with my ladies for Galentines Day. What’s Galentine’s Day? Only the best day of the year! I’ll let Leslie explain it below:

Valentine’s was very low-keyfor us; we got Chinese take-out and watched tv. Ah, the life of a married couple. <3 #marriedlifeisawesome

Also this week, I wore this olive cable knit sweater from Banana Republic. This was a work outfit, and a coworker commented that even when I’m dressed down I look fabulous. I sure work with some sweet and fabulous people! I didn’t get a chance to get good photos because we’ve been crazy busy at work, so I hope these are okay. I should be back to normal once this winter weather moves out.
