Leaf Me Breathless

April 23, 2014 by Nikki 4 Comments

Leaf Me Breathless | NCsquared Life

I love clever puns and ModCloth is the queen of them. ‘Leaf Me Breathless’ is what they called this cutie-patootie flora and fauna dress when I purchased it a few years ago. It’s really light and flowy, and has become my go-to dress in the summer. Having a backyard barbeque? Let me grab my little green dress and sandals. Outdoor wedding? Little green dress with a blazer and wedges. Brunch on Sunday? Little green dress. Class on Tuesday? Little. Green. Dress. You get the picture. Also, the belt came with the dress and I’ve worn it with so many other outfits that e,ven if I didn’t wear the dress, the belt itself would have made the purchase worth it.

Minty Fresh

Minty Fresh | NCsquared Life

When I asked Nick what he thought of this outfit, he replied that it was “minty fresh” which reminded me of the doublemint twins. Does anyone remember them? They weren’t my inspiration for this outfit but now that I see the photos, I see it. I was actually inspired by my necklace because it combines mint with a dark green.  And the pop of pink in the shoes adds a somewhat unexpected but perfect touch.

Perfect Match

November 21, 2013 by Nikki No Comments

green sweater, white vest, cognac flats | NCsquared Life

I’ve decided that any sweater and this white vest make the perfect match. And were made for Fall! I do sometimes wish the vest wasn’t quite as puffy as it is, but when that happens, I push as much air out of it as possible and then I’m happy. I like to think it doesn’t take much to make me happy, but I have a feeling that Nick (and probably everyone else around me) would argue otherwise. Oh, well.

As I mentioned in this post, this sweater is less of a light green/blueish and more of a kelly green. Either my clothes just don’t photograph well, or I suck at lighting and need a new camera. Hint, it’s the last one!

Crazy Pants

October 16, 2013 by Nikki No Comments
denim jacket, gingham Mad Men pants, green sweater | NCsquared Life

There was supposed to be sunshine today, which would have made my photos look much better, but c’est la vie. Instead, you get crazy pants photos! They’re a plaid/gingham pattern (I’m still learning the difference between the two) and were part of the Spring Mad Men collection at Banana Republic. Since I’m wearing this ensemble to class (and because it’s still a little chilly outside from no sun light!), I decided to dress it down a bit by pairing it with the denim jacket.

The shirt looks blueish but it’s actually a soft kelly green, so I added a green bag to go with the soft green of the shirt; keeping it all in the same color pallet.

Here’s the nice detail of the pants. See, they’re not too crazy. But seriously, don’t stare at this photo too long because it might hurt your eyes!

Close up of the necklace. I LOVE this thing. I get the most complements on it. Apologies, again, for the lighting. This necklace is a slightly darker gray in person. But still beautiful!

What’s the craziest thing in your closet? How often do you wear it?
