When Bri of Work Clothes I Suppose asked me to co-host her Third Thursday Threads linkup, I was shocked, humbled, and excited to say yes! If this is your first visit to NCsquared Life, then I’d like to say welcome and thank you so much for stopping by. My name is Nikki and I’m a full-time graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in public health. NCsquared Life is a lifestyle blog that mostly documents my daily style with a little bit of life and DIY from my husband, Nick, sprinkled in. Nick + Nikki = NCsquared. I hope you like what you see and will stick around. If you’ve been here a time or two before, it’s nice to see you again.
I’ve come to realize that I rarely dress up on the blog so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show off my newest dress and my favorite heeled sandals. There’s a story behind these sandals that made me feel I should choose them for this post: I saw them online at Banana Republic and wanted them so badly but by the time I had enough money to purchase them (broke graduate student here!), they were gone. I continuously checked to see if they would come back and when they did, even at $8 more than their original price, I snatched them right up. The heel height is perfect and the color is great. I have no regrets! Oh, and the dress is really fun, too.
Here’s the fun one: this dress is fun to twirl in, and I like twirling!
AND because we’re huge nerds, Nick created a gif of me walking in my awesome sandals in honor of this thread! Enjoy!
Dress: Mystree via Stitch Fix
Belt: Modcloth (came with another dress, but I wear it with everything!)
Necklace & Clutch: Francesca’s
Bracelet: Old Navy
Sandals: Banana Republic
So, with a little twist, here’s how this works:
1. Follow Work Clothes, I Suppose, and NCsquared Life!
2. Link to a specific post, not your general blog URL, and please be wearing or talking about sandals.
3. Visit the other bloggers who have linked up!
Oh my goodness, that dress is GORGEOUS!! I really need to find a good fit and flare striped dress. This one is so pretty! I can see why you just had to have those shoes. They seem perfect for summer with a heel that’s not too daunting. Love love love! Joined the link up too!

Lauren, I was very surprised when I got it from Stitch Fix and it fit as well as it did, especially because I’m so short. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was a keeper. And the heels were just a natural choice with it. I’m so glad you like it 🙂
I am seriously THRILLED that Bri has you as a cohost for TTT this month, because otherwise I wouldn’t have found your blog! I just pored through so many pages on your blog and I have to say, I love it. I really enjoyed reading your wedding posts as well – your wedding sounds so personal and special, and it reminds me so much of mine and my husband’s! We wrote our ceremony, my mom made my wedding dress, we did everything ourselves, we included our support of marriage equality into our wedding, etc. I also love that you’re a feminist – me too! I love meeting other women who think like me 🙂 I definitely added your blog to my reader and look forward to following along!!
Brynn, thank you so much; you are so sweet. I love that we have so much in common! Let’s be friends 🙂 I look forward to following your blog, as well!
Great look!!! Loving those sandals… Definitely worth the wait! Your GIF is so cute! Still figuring out how to make one haha. So glad I found your blog! I’m also an SBS member 🙂

Bekka, it’s so nice to hear from another SBS member! I’m still new to blogging and the SBS so I’m still getting a feel for things. As for the gif, from my understanding, Nick used a gif-making website called http://gifmaker.me/ and just uploaded a series of photos, and it did the rest. Good luck! And I can’t wait to check out and follow your blog 🙂
Yay love the post – thanks so much for co-hosting!!! And so awesome of Nick to create that gif – that’s super fun!!!
Thanks, Bri. He is definitely creative!
What a gorgeous dress! And those sandals are perfect for work!!
Rebecca, these sandals are perfect for life, and definitely for work! I would wear them to the office every sinlge day. They were definitely worth the wait.
