Brrrr, you guys. Brr. It’s been ridiculously cold here this past week. We got snow and ice, and schools closed, and North Carolina was just out of order. Which is fine with me because ice is no joke. I grew up in the mountains so I’m used to driving in the snow but I don’t mess around with ice because NO ONE can drive on ice, I don’t care what they say! So, with the miserable chill, I needed to keep all of my skin as covered as possible to avoid frostbite. I really like the look of wearing tights with socks and ankle boots so I decided to try that look with my skinny jeans; I think it turned out really well. I went with gray socks to match the gray/blue in the scarf. I still had to throw on my red coat and gloves but I stayed fairly warm.

I’m still loving the boots; I wear them almost every day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful winter holiday. Speaking of winter, isn’t this the perfect winter outfit? A fuzzy sweater, boots, and a knit hat to keep me warm and cozy. And let’s not forget, super cute! I’ve been spending this week with my family in the mountains and it’s been cold and sometimes wet, so this outfit has come in handy. I’ve also been eating a ton of great food and lounging around, so I might have to go up a size at the beginning of the year… I guess I’ve found my New Year’s Resolution! 😉

I told you last week about my newest obsession with cropped sweaters and here’s proof: another cropped sweater. I wore it with my “fancy pajama pants” to work and to class because I just wanted to feel cozy and comfortable; I succeeded. I’m not really sure what else to say about it, so just enjoy some photos.

I loved this blazer the second I saw it in the store. Then I brought it home and saw other bloggers wearing it and so I loved it even more. Not that I needed them to, but it was as if the other bloggers validated my good taste in blazers 🙂 I can’t wait to wear it all the time.

It rained all day on the day I wore this outfit so instead of pumps, I wore my rain boots. I would have worn the heels if the weather had cooperated.

You can probably tell when I really like an outfit by the number of photos I post of it. The more comfortable I feel in my clothes, the more I like the outfit and the more photos I take. I think clothes can really enhance your confidence and, for me, it shows because I get a lot of cute picutres out of it. This one is probably my new favorite outfit, though. I’ve worn this to dinner with friends, to class and to work, and for hanging out. And I would wear it every day if I could. When I think about my signature style these days, this is it: a cute top, a cardigan, a scarf, and comfy shoes. It doesn’t get much better than that.

I purchased this scarf on sale at a cute little boutique during a conference trip to Wilmington last week. I loved the plumy colors but I didn’t realize it would match this cargidan so well until I got home and put them together. I chose the turquoise flats to break up all the plum, and I have to say that I’m absolutely loving the plum/turquoise combo. Ahh, there’s just so much to love about this little outfit.

Here’s the fun one: I had so much fun with the Bloopers post last week that I’ve decided to add one as my fun post whenever I have a good one from a shoot. In this one, I was looking up at a plane in the sky. For some reason, the plane looked weird to me so it caught my attention and Nick caught that in this photo!
