It’s been really hot and humid the last couple of days so I’ve been wearing shorts and skirts pretty much any time I go out. I wore this yesterday to run some errands and, in hind sight, the material of the top wasn’t that breathable so I probably sweated more than I needed to. But I sure looked cute when I got a  flu shot for my internship! You can see the bandaid on my shoulder in the photo below.

I got these sandals from Target a few weeks ago and, at first, I thought they would be cute with everything but now I second guess myself every time I put them on, including this time. But I made myself stick with them and I’m glad I did. I mean, they are really cute. What do you all think?

School’s out for summer! Just kidding, I start my internship and an environmental health class in less than two weeks, but that means I have over a week to *not* do school work. I’ll take it!

So, this was my favorite outfit last summer.  Most of my summer/warm weather outfits will be from last year because I haven’t been summer shopping yet, nor do I have much cash to do so. The good thing is I wasn’t blogging last summer so it’ll all be new to y’all! Also, shorts and tees will never go out of style. Add a hat and you’re golden. Speaking ot hats, this one is shaped funny because it spent about 6 hours smooshed under a heavy bag during a road trip to Illinois last year and it never really recovered. Does anyone have any advice on how to take the bump out?

One reason this was my favorite outfit is because these shorts are so comfortable, super cute and very versatile. Tie that t-shirt to add a little interest and you’re even more golden 😉

I should’ve mentioned this sooner but this week is finals week at school. My exams actually started on Friday, but I have two more exams and a 10-page paper due by Wednesday. Needless to say, things will be a little quiet until then. I hope you’ll stick around, though! Here’s a peak at what I’ve been wearing to study.

Happy Sunday!

This is the kind of thing you’ll find me in on a warm, Spring Sunday. It was in the 80s when I took these photos and it eventually got too warm for the scarf and it had to go. I mostly spent the day inside reading articles and book chapters in preparation for the week at school. The semester is surprisingly almost over and I can’t believe it! Just a few more weeks until finals and that doesn’t feel quite right. This semester has flown by!

This is our backyard and it needs so much work that it’s overwhelming. It looked so good for our wedding, but, of course, that was almost three years ago. Hopefully, we’ll be able to enjoy the yard this summer.

I always ask Nick what he thinks of my outfits (and often, I ask multiple times) because he has a really good sense of fashion. When I asked about this one, his reply was that it was “very Durham”  because it looks  pretty and put together but doesn’t take itself too seriously, much like the city of Durham, where we live.

I wore this out for a night of drinking and hanging out with friends under the stars. I must admit that it took me slighly out of my comfort zone, but by the end of the night, I felt right at home in all the pieces. I’ve taken chances on outfits in the past where I never came around to feeling good them so I never wore them again. But this one will get thrown on repeat!

I apologize for any blindness that might occur from looking at my legs! My poor, pale skin hasn’t seen much sun lately but now that the weather is nice, that will change!
