Summer is in the air! Even though it doesn’t officially start for a few more weeks, it’s already hot as a dickens outside and I find myself reaching for my shorts, sleeveless tops, and hats. I’ve put away sweaters, scarves, and boots and I’m ready to sit poolside in my swimming suit, sipping mojitos. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for running errands, grabbing lunch, and going for walks in these cute green shorts.
I’m currently trying to update my wardrobe as my body has changed a bit since having a baby. What used to fit doesn’t fit anymore, or it’s not a style I’m into, so I’m getting rid of the things that are taking up space in my closet and replacing them with clothes I feel really good in. This outfit is an example. Nick, Sebastian and I went shopping at the Tanger Outlets in Mebane on Mother’s Day and this is just one of the cute outfits I came away with. However, I should have picked up a new hat because this one is looking a bit rough. When I first got it, it accidentally spent almost 12 hours crushed under a suitcase or something in the backseat on a roadtrip to Illinois, and it’s been weirdly misshapen ever since. I’ve made the best of it but I think it’s time to get a new one.
Summer really is in the air, and I can’t wait for all of the fun outdoor activities that Durham has to offer. From concerts to food truck rodeos and farmers’ markets, it really is a fun time of year, and these green shorts are going to see me through all of them.
